Once upon a time there lived a Beast. He was a handsome man in his early twenties. Was he short? No, he was a tall man. Was he overweight or on the contrary very thin? No, the Beast was well built and sporty. What about his hair? He had shoulder-length straight black hair. And his face was rather attractive. He had an oval face with regular features and expressive dark eyes. He had a very pleasant smile and his even white teeth normally attracted girls...
He lived in a large house with a beautiful garden. And he had a young neighbour – a Beauty, who also lived in a nice house. They lived so close to each other that had an opportunity to communicate very often. But they didn’t. Who can tell why it was so?
But let’s return to our muttons. What about the Beauty? Was she also good-looking? Oh, no, we can’t say so. The Beauty was a plump short girl. Her skin wasn’t delicate and soft. Her hair was not thick, it was thinning and very short. Her round face with large features was rather plain, to put it mildly. A large turned up nose, a wide mouth with full lips, thick eyebrows and close-set eyes produced an unpleasant impression.
But still she was the Beauty and he was the Beast. You can ask me: “Why?” And I’ll answer you, if you are not able to understand yourself.
The thing is that the Beauty was a person of strong character; she did well at work and was an excellent cook. She was like a ray of sunshine and to tell the truth people thought she was pleasant to deal with.
The Beast was just a chatterbox and a lazy-bones. He lived for sport (body-building) from morning till night and was not a strong-willed person. He disliked housekeeping and never kept his word. Besides he was rather tricky, selfish and stern. People often consider him a blockhead incapable to communicate with others.
No wonder that the neighbours couldn’t get well with one another…
No wonder that people prefer The Real Beauty to The Real Beast.
